Edinburgh-based fintech Sustainably has obtained £50,000 in funding after it reached the final of UK-wide Open Up Challenge 2020.

The company is one of 15 fintechs in the UK to make the final of the challenge.

Sustainably is one of the final 15 teams, who will also receive £50k in funding. The funding will also grow to as much as £300k each for three to four winning teams.



The Open Up Challenge 2020 is designed and timed to boost consumer awareness and adoption of open banking-enabled products.

The challenge also helps the finalists to promote their products in a national digital awareness campaign and offers participants expert non-financial support to help accelerate their solutions.

The Open Up Challenge 2020 will run from July 2019 to July 2020.

Open Up 2020 is run by Nesta Challenges and backed by the Open Banking Implementation Entity as part of the UK’s world-leading open banking agenda.
