  • Wolfcraig Distillery appoints new master blender

Wolfcraig Distillery has appointed Richard Paterson as its Master Blender



Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Richard is a third generation Master Blender and is rightly regarded as one of the greatest whisky makers of his generation. Nicknamed “the nose” for his olfactory skills he is a giant of the Scotch Whisky industry.

There are few in the Scotch industry past or present who can equal Richard’s knowledge and experience having been garlanded with a plethora of distinguished awards from across the Scotch Industry including the Icon of Whisky Lifetime Achievement, Winner of the ‘Spirit of Scotland’ Trophy and his induction into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame.

 

  • Thistly Cross launches Scotland’s first cider liqueur

Dubar-based Thistly Cross has launched two new cider liqueurs, the first of their kind in Scotland.

The initial release is just 600 bottles of each flavour, available for free UK-wide home delivery from Thistly Cross’s website. Both liqueurs are blended with the cidermaker’s real fruit, slow-fermented ciders, which are matured for at least 6 months for a rich, authentically fruity flavour and smooth finish.

Traditional Cider Liqueur is blended with Thistly Cross apple cider, with an abv of 20%. It’s a richly warming, golden apple cider liqueur, delicious sipped on its own or lengthened with ginger ale or Thistly Cross Ginger Cider to dial up the fiery undertones.

 

  • Ardbeg Distillery rolls our delivery service this Halloween

Ardbeg Distillery is launching a new delivery service which will give customers in Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Islay the chance to receive a Monster Night In pack, with all the ingredients for a Halloween movie night, including anArdbeg Wee Beastie smoky cocktail.

A handful of winners will also be selected to win a “Knocktail Experience”: not only will they receive a special stash of Halloween treats including a bottle of Ardbeg Wee Beastie and Amazon Fire Stick, but they’ll also get a visit from their own personal monster mixologist – who’ll concoct a cocktail, right on their doorstep.

 

  • Shedman makes generous donation to Glasgow nursery

Shed manufacturer Shedman has donated £1000 and a brand new 6x4 pent workshop to he Rising Stars Nursery in Glasgow’s east end after it was vandalised. 

It also supplied, delivered and fitted a 7x5 apex shed to be used as storage point for all the fun activities apparatus used by Lanarkshire-based Blameless charity on its away day and residential outings to the  Eden Leisure Village in Cumbernauld.

The donations came when Spectrum Properties managing director Bill Roddie heard about the troubles at Rising Stars, and at the suggestion of Colin McGowan, who is chief executive of Hamilton-base Blameless.

 

  • Litte Lies sees sales boom during lockdown

Perthshire-based clothing retailer Little Lies has quadruped employee numbers this year after experiencing a rise in online sales during the coronavirus lockdown.

Little Lies hired nine new members of staff to help meet demand for products.

Jade Robertson, the firm’s founder said the shop had received orders from across the UK and from overseas markets including Germany, Australia, the US and the middle east.
