What to expect

Thorntons has one of the largest Private Client teams in Scotland, helping our clients plan for the future, protect and manage their assets and deal with significant life events. Our team are experts in every aspect of Private Client work and are recognised leaders in their field. Our Trusts team is growing and we are looking for a new Trust Manager who will:

  • Manage a portfolio of Trusts
  • Prepare annual trust accounts
  • Liaise with trustees and beneficiaries of trusts
  • Ensure filing and reporting requirements meet statutory deadlines.

What we’re looking for

  • Accounting experience (Accountancy qualification is preferable but not essential)
  • Substantial knowledge of trusts
  • Experience of trust administration including trust accounting and trust taxation
  • Working knowledge of Inheritance Tax legislation including completion of Ten Year Charge tax forms and calculations
