AAM managed trust ups dividends

The Aberdeen Asset Management-managed North American Income Trust, is to increase its dividends for the six months to the end of July.

The step was taken after outperforming its reference indices in the first half of 2016 during which the trust’s net asset value per share rose by 26 per cent from 935.55p to 1,175.27p.

This compared to the S&P 500 and the Russell 1000 Value which generated total returns of 21 per cent and 23.2 per cent respectively in sterling terms.

The North American Income Trust will now pay an interim dividend of 14p per share, up from the final dividend of 13p per share it paid in January.
