Aberdeen AM airport arm announces new London Heathrow agreement

Aberdeen_AssetAberdeen Asset Management’s Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust (AIPUT) – a specialist owner and manager of prime airport related industrial warehouses in the UK – has exchanged contracts with dnata to deliver an industry leading air-cargo handling warehouse of 6,160 sq m (66,300 sq ft) at London Heathrow.

Building 521a is a highly sought after modern warehouse located at the entrance to Heathrow’s Cargo Terminal on Stirling Road, with airside and landside access. The warehouse and offices are to be refurbished to a world-class standard.

Nick Smith, fund manager of AIPUT, said:“For some time now, quality modern warehouses in the heart of the cargo area of Heathrow have been unavailable and risk missing the long term needs of the leading air-cargo operators. We’re motivated to address this and are working hard to identify and deliver industry-leading warehouse facilities for the cargo community and to grow our close working relationship with dnata.

“This latest transaction by AIPUT at Building 521a demonstrates the belief and strength in our product. It is also further evidence of our determination to support Heathrow’s ambition to materially enhance the airport’s cargo capacity and competitive position over the next 20 years.”

AIPUT was represented by ChappellKing and Eversheds.
