Aberdeen Investments expands enhanced index offer with new fund

Aberdeen Investments has launched a new fund

Aberdeen Investments has launched a new fund to complement similar existing World, American and European Equity Enhanced Index strategies within its Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV vehicle, which was launched earlier in the year.

The fund, abrdn SICAV I - Emerging Markets Equity Enhanced Index Fund, is hoping to deliver long-term capital growth for shareholders by targeting returns greater than the MSCI Emerging Markets 10/40 Index before charges over rolling five-year periods, investing in emerging market equities to do so.

It is expected the fund’s ongoing charges figure will be at about 0.66%. It will be available for distribution in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.

The index portfolios blend passive and active approaches, aiming to modestly outperform benchmarks with diversified exposure to core equity markets, through a data-led strategy.

A spokesperson for Aberdeen said: “Supported by proprietary risk analytics, portfolio construction techniques and dynamic risk management, our enhanced index strategies are designed to manage unintended risks while maintaining exposure to targeted sources of return.”
