AG Barr appoints former Formula One coach as people performance director

IRN-BRU-owner AG BARR plc has appointed Bradley Scanes as a people performance director.

Mr Scanes brings over 13 years’ experience coaching some of the world’s most elite athletes, including serving as High Performance Coach and Physiotherapist to four time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen. Alongside his work in motorsport, Mr Scanes has supported Olympic athletes in UK gymnastics and basketball, advising teams through their Olympic cycles and helping them build the habits and processes that lead to consistent success.

The strategic appointment marks the latest milestone in AG Barr’s rich history of innovation and reflects the company’s continued commitment to creating an environment where its people can thrive.

Joining AG Barr as it continues to deliver on an ambitious growth strategy, Mr Scanes will focus on drawing on the close connections between elite sport and business, embedding positive habits across the organisation, fine tuning proven processes and ensuring the business continues to lead through innovation.

Mr Scanes will join AG Barr on 10 December 2025, reporting directly to Ms Gowen.
