A global crypto scammer, who posed as a helping hand to investors, has successfully prosecuted by his victims, from whom he stole around £20,000 in bitcoin which would have been worth as much as £725,000 today.

Doede Osman Khan, a 50-year-old resident of Staffordshire, presented himself as a beacon of hope for investors keen to navigate the complex world of cryptocurrency.

Khan, who operated under the alias Danny Turner, offered tutorials and investment services in early 2019 to individuals across the globe, including Teesside and Canada, on trading bitcoins and avoiding online scams. He gained rapid popularity, managing to gather dozens of clients seeking to earn money whilst avoiding the traps set by con artists, BBC news reports.

Khan, conceding to seven counts of fraud, was met with a 15-month suspended prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He now is under a four-month curfew and awaits a future proceeds of crime hearing.
