A Christmas tree made out of toilet brush bristles has been sold at auction for £150.

The Woolworth’s tree was made in 1937 and was first bought from the high street store 82 years ago.

The tree as priced at the equivalent of 6p and bought by a family in Dundee to celebrate the birth of their son James, The Independent reports.



The tree measures only 27 inches, (69 cm) but was used by the family for 58 years before they moved on to use another The tree was found in the attic of the family home by Claire Barnet, daughter of the original owner, after spending 20 years hidden away.

On Thursday, last week, the tree was sold at auction in Derbyshire to an international buyer.
