And finally... gotta catch 'em all!

A Pokémon fan who sold a rare card for a fraction of its value has recouped it after collectors informed him it was potentially worth thousands of pounds.

Shared in a TikTok, user LeighCeezy took their childhood collection of Pokémon TCG cards to a local store in an attempt to earn some money. They walked away with around $24 (£19) and seemed pleased with their haul – until commenters under the video told them that one of their cards was worth substantially more.

The card in question is the Gold Star Espeon POP Series 5, which is only available through Pokémon Organised Play events from 2003 to 2010. Past sales on eBay show that versions of the card fetched as much as $3,250 (around £2,575), Gamesradar reports.

Aware of the card’s potential worth, LeighCeezy returned to the store, who gave him back the card. He had purchased it for just £1.50 as part of the initial £24 sale—an undervaluation of up to 216,000%.

The card has not yet been resold.
