A portrait of Sir Winston Churchill that could sell for an estimated £800,000 at auction has been put on display at his family home, Blenheim Palace.

The portrait is set to go up for auction on 6 June with a guide price of £500,000 to £800,000.

The painting will also be displayed at Sotheby’s venues in New York and London before its sale.

British artist Graham Sutherland was commissioned by the Houses of Parliament to paint the former prime minister for his 80th birthday in 1954, BBC News reports.
