One of the world’s oldest books has been sold for more than £3 million at auction.

The Crosby-Schøyen Codex, which contains the earliest Christian texts from Egypt, dates to between 250 to 350AD and contains the earliest Christian texts from Egypt.

The book was auctioned at Christie’s in London on Tuesday, selling for £3,065,000 to an unidentified buyer.



The manuscript itself contains texts including the first complete epistle of Peter, the Book of Jonah, and an Easter homily, BBC News reports.
