A TikToker is being sued by the manufacturer of the children’s toys she uses to tell soap opera-style stories involving sex and drugs.
More than 2.5 million people follow @sylvaniandrama on TikTok, where Thea Von Engelbrechten posts short stories illustrated with Sylvanian Families felt figurines.
Epoch Company Ltd, the Japanese manufacturer of Sylvanian Families, is now suing Ms Von Engelbrechten for copyright infringement, the BBC reports.
The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, alleges that the TikTok account has caused “irreparable injury” to its reputation.
Ms Von Engelbrechten is reportedly set to defend her works as a parody protected in law.
