And finally... ticket to ride

At least six people have taken up an offer of a year’s free public transportation in Austria in exchange for getting a tattoo.

Pop-up stalls at recent Austrian music festivals invited revellers to get the ‘KlimaTicket’ logo tattooed on their body in exchange for a free ticket, Euronews reports.

Austria’s climate minister Leonore Gewessler defended the scheme, which she said was “received very positively by the festival guests”, according to Salzburger Nachrichten.

However, opposition politician Henrike Brandstötter said it revealed an “unacceptable view of humanity from a government minister”.

Asked if the initiative would be repeated next year, Ms Gewessler said “we don’t know yet”.
