And finally… wiener takes all

A dedicated collector in Northern California has acquired a cherished piece of retail history – the Costco sign advertising the retailer’s famous $1.50 (c. £1.12) hot dog and soda combination.
The fan, a self-described sign enthusiast named Zack, now possesses what many consider the “Holy Grail” of Costco memorabilia.
Zack’s opportunity arose when he learned that Costco would be switching its fountain drinks from Pepsi to Coca-Cola, rendering the existing signs obsolete. Seizing the moment, he spent months persistently speaking with general managers at various warehouses in his area. His determination paid off when one manager agreed to set aside the sign for him following the changeover, Dexerto reports.
This successful acquisition has bolstered Zack’s confidence in his hobby of collecting old signs and menus. He plans to keep the iconic sign in his family for generations, where it is currently stored safely in his garage. While he jokes that a lack of space and his wife’s patience are the only limiting factors to his collection, he notes her support, stating, “She would rather have me collect signs instead of doing drugs.”
