Oscar Wilde’s Mayfair home has been listed for sale at £14 million.

The property is said to have provided the inspiration for his famous text The Importance of Being Earnest.

The six-storey, stucco-fronted townhouse located 14 Half Moon Street was built around 1730. It now has five bedrooms and spans over 5,000 square feet over seven floors, each serviced by a lift.

The property also features a cinema room, gym, steam room, storage vault and terraces on the first and fourth floors, the Standard reports.

Its sale is being managed by Beauchamp Estates.
