Interior designer, BBC Scotland’s Home of the Year judge and entrepreneur Anna Campbell-Jones has released her first spirit: Anna Campbell-Jones Small Batch Scottish Botanical Rum, distilled by Jacobite Distillers in Glasgow.

This debut release marks her entry into the spirits market and introduces a fully Scottish-distilled botanical white rum with a distinct flavour profile. Only 800 individually numbered bottles of Batch 1 have been produced.

The idea for the rum began in conversations between Ms Campbell-Jones and John McIlvogue of Old & Rare Whisky, whose shared interest in flavour, ingredients and craftsmanship helped shape the early concept. His encouragement and taste-led approach influenced her decision to create a spirit rooted in place, memory and the Scottish landscape. This first batch reflects that early collaboration and marks the beginning of her move into the drinks market.

Ms Campbell-Jones chose rum because it offered creative freedom and the chance to bring a Scottish accent to a category often dominated by Caribbean styles. Distilling in Glasgow gave her full control over the process, allowing the botanicals to shape the spirit rather than sit on top of it. The aim was to create something confident, clean and rooted in place: a white rum with clarity, personality and a clear identity.

This release also ties into Ms Campbell-Jones’ wider move into new areas of design and creative production. After years spent shaping objects, interiors and visual culture, she wanted to work with flavour as another form of expression. This first batch signals the start of that shift and introduces a product that brings together her interest in craft, detail and a sense of Scottish wildness.

Ms Campbell-Jones said: “With this botanical white rum, I wanted to bottle a feeling – the bright, windswept joy of the Scottish landscape, where wild mint, elderberry, nettle and heather grow.

“It’s a spirit shaped by craft and curiosity, a little unexpected, a little playful, and unmistakably Scottish. And because of its fresh, herbaceous character, it makes the perfect mojito.

“Also delicious neat on the rocks, each sip brings a sense of discovery and delight. Distilled by Jacobite Distillers in Glasgow, and ideal for gifting this Christmas.”
