The global professional services firm recruited four graduates to its Scottish offices as part of its Early Careers programme.

The new recruits will gain “meaningful hands-on experience in Investment Consulting, Actuarial Consulting, and Data Solutions”, according to the firm. They will work with colleagues and clients while receiving support and guidance from across the business, and will be supported as they move from university into full-time employment through the firm’s Launch graduate programme.

Craig McKee, who has joined Aon following a degree at The University of Glasgow, said: “Starting my career with Aon is a brilliant opportunity and I’m excited about what lies ahead. I’m looking forward to meeting and learning from colleagues across the business, taking on new challenges and developing the skills and experience I’ll need throughout my career.”

Meanwhile, Saffery hired 16 new trainees as part of its ongoing commitment to helping young people build careers in professional services. The recruits include graduates, school leavers and apprentices who will work across the firm’s audit and assurance, tax, accounts and client payroll teams. Each will follow a structured qualification pathway combining professional study with hands-on experience.

The new joiners are part of a wider national cohort, as the firm plans to welcome 144 trainees across its UK and Dublin offices during the 2026/27 financial year.

Saffery currently supports 347 trainees pursuing a range of accountancy, audit and tax qualifications. This summer, it also welcomed five interns to its Edinburgh and Inverness offices, giving them insight into life at the firm and hands-on workplace experience.

To support their learning and development, interns benefit from Saffery’s Kickstart Programme, a tailored training and development curriculum launched earlier this year.

The programme covers technical knowledge, emerging topics such as AI and core professional skills. Participants receive ongoing support from a dedicated mentor, regular feedback and the opportunity to progress to a training contract following successful completion of their placement.
