Aventus Eco secures £100,000 investment to scale operations

Scottish green energy solutions installer Aventus Eco has secured up to £100,000 in funding from Edinburgh-based tech entrepreneur Ed Broussard, founder of the artificial intelligence startup Tomoro.

The investment will enable the Glasgow-based firm to enhance training, hire new staff, and expand its operations.

Sean Hogan, managing director of Aventus Eco, said: “We’re focused on helping homeowners get great quality solar, heat pump and battery installs that save them money and decarbonise their home.

“This investment allows us to scale the business, bringing highly trained engineers to our customers who are entirely focused on green technologies.

“When systems like air source heat pumps and solar panels aren’t installed properly, they can get a bad name. We’re here to change that by providing expert installation, quality workmanship, and educating our customers. We’re not just about getting the job done.”

Replacing gas boilers with heat pumps is core to the Scottish Government’s green targets, with more than 1 million homes needed to be connected to a zero or low emission heating system by 2030. However, the country is currently falling short of that target with only 124,000 installed last year.

Mr Broussard said: “To get close to the governments targets and make a significant impact on decarbonisation we need to go much faster as a country.

“For many of the homes in Scotland, you will be able decarbonise your home without upfront costs and start making monthly savings immediately.”

This isn’t Mr Broussard’s first step into home decarbonisation, having invested in the leading heating engineer training and technology company Heat Geek in January 2023.

Mr Broussard added: “To successfully decarbonise the country’s heating we need tech hyper-scalers like Heat Geek who are pioneering new technology to make installations cheaper, faster and more efficient.

“But we also need highly skilled installers in the local area who can carry out the work in your home. That’s why I’ve backed Aventus Eco and see it as so important to Scotland’s decarbonisation journey.”

Mr Hogan said: “All of our heat pump installs will be led by Heat Geek trained installers.

“To maximise the efficiencies which lead to savings, its vital customers get optimal system designs by the highest trained installers in the business. That’s exactly what we’re focused on delivering.”
