Ms Scott will lead a team of experienced Relationship Directors and Relationship Managers and will support a diverse range of sectors including professional services, hospitality, manufacturing, retail and technology.
With more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking, Ms Scott joins Bank of Scotland from Barclays, where she held the role of relationship director for Glasgow. Her career also includes nearly 15 years at Scottish Enterprise, leading strategic investment teams supporting high-growth Scottish companies and the transition to net zero. Ms Scott also spent her early career as a relationship manager at Bank of Scotland, making this appointment a welcome return.
Based at the St Vincent Street office in Glasgow, Ms Scott will oversee an experienced team dedicated to providing tailored guidance, local market insight and sector expertise. Ms Scott said: “Glasgow is a leader in finance, retail, industry, culture and fashion, and the most densely populated city in Scotland. The result is a diverse mix of ambitious businesses that are constantly seeking new ways to grow, invest and stay competitive.
“After spending 27 years of my career working in Glasgow, I know firsthand how exciting the city is for businesses. I’m looking forward to working with my new team to provide the insight, tools and funding to help firms across Glasgow and the West of Scotland capitalise on new growth opportunities and achieve their ambitions.”
Martyn Kendrick, regional director for Scotland at Bank of Scotland, said: “Alison brings deep market knowledge, a strong track record in relationship banking and a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses across Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
