Thomas McKay – Managing partner at Begbies Traynor in Scotland
George Lafferty of Begbies Traynor has been appointed provisional liquidator of The View Café, Aviemore a popular café with both locals and visitors, as part of a Scottish court liquidation process.
The company entered provisional liquidation on 16 December and has ceased trading, resulting in all 12 members of staff being made redundant.
Thomas McKay, managing partner at Begbies Traynor in Scotland, said: “We are currently working with the redundancy payments service to ensure all staff who have been made redundant are able to recover sums due to them as quickly as possible in respect of their contractual entitlements.
“It is unfortunate to see a well-regarded local business like The View Cafe Aviemore close with the loss of jobs, especially at this time of year.
“The hospitality sector across the Highlands, Scotland and the wider UK continues to face significant challenges, including rising costs, staffing pressures and changing consumer spending.”
