Mr McLaws joins the firm from London-based brokerage James Hallam and will work alongside managing director Scott McLuskey as Monteith continues to grow at pace.

Mr McLaws brings extensive experience advising complex commercial clients. He is known for his technical expertise, long-standing client relationships and a strong ethos of client advocacy. His move to Monteith reflects a shared commitment to professionalism, high-quality advice and long-term value for insurance buyers.

Founded to challenge traditional market models, Monteith operates from it’s Glasgow & London offices as a senior-led boutique advisory firm focused on raising standards of service and advice.

The business is targeting £10 million of written premium this year, as it continues to attract high-quality clients throughout the UK, and experienced advisers aligned with its values.

Mr McLaws’ appointment is the latest in a series of senior hires by Monteith as the business continues to expand. The firm has recently appointed Anne Edgar from Lockton and Ashley Orr from James Hallam, both joining as client relationship managers, further strengthening Monteith’s capability and depth of experience.
