Consilium Chartered Accountants announce raft of internal promotions

Seven members of staff across all levels of the business have been promoted to director at Glasgow-based Consilium Chartered Accountants.

Within the firm’s tax department, Paul Donnelly has been promoted from associate director to director.

Mr Donnelly was one of Consilium’s first hires when the firm was established in 2013 and will support tax partner Craig Coyle in delivering corporate and personal tax services.

Discussing his promotion, Mr Donnelly said: “I’m delighted to be promoted to tax director, marking an important milestone in my career.

“I’m proud of what our team has achieved and look forward to building on that success – shaping the future of our tax services and continuing to provide trusted advice and support to our clients.

“Being part of the Dains Group brings exciting opportunities for growth and collaboration, and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.”

In accounts and advisory, Ross Cochrane moves from associate director to director to support senior partners James Goodman and Derek Shaw in an expanded team.

Mr Cochrane gained significant finance leadership experience within the renewables sector prior to joining Consilium in 2022 as associate director.

He said: “I’m grateful to the partners for the trust they have placed in me since I joined Consilium. Stepping up to director, I’m excited to embrace the new opportunities to support more clients as part of the expanded Dains Group in Scotland.”

Also within accounts and advisory, Jennifer Hamilton becomes the firm’s client services manager. Within audit, Jessica Liu and Sean Clark move up to supervisor roles, and recently qualified CAs Ester Kerekesova and David Curley become seniors.

Discussing the promotions, founding partner David Holt said: “This latest round of promotions reflect our continuing commitment to career progression.

“Since joining the Dains Group earlier this year, we have been able to further enhance the training and development available to team members, evidenced by this announcement.

“The promotions of Ross Cochrane and Paul Donnelly to director within accounts and advisory and tax respectively are particularly noteworthy.

“They reflect the outstanding contribution Ross and Paul have made to our business over several years and further strengthen our senior team.”
