Glasgow-based Consilium Chartered Accountants has supported Smedvig Capital in the successful completion of a €6 million (£5.14m) investment round into EdgeTier, an Irish company specialising in AI-powered analytics.

Consillium’s David Holt and Colin McCrann provided financial due diligence (FDD) services to Smedvig in respect of their investment.

This investment round was led by Smedvig alongside Episode 1 and Act Venture Capital. The round will provide capital to support EdgeTier’s growth plans and help them meet the demand for its cutting-edge AI applications for customer contact centres. Trusted by brands such as LoveHolidays and Abercrombie & Fitch, EdgeTier is poised to capture a significant portion of an estimated €7 billion (£6bn) global market.

Consilium worked alongside Joe Knowles and Maeve Crowley of Smedvig on this investment round, continuing a positive relationship between the two businesses. The Glasgow-based firm of chartered accountants has supported Smedvig with investments in other tech-based businesses such as Adzuna (jobs search engine), Yumpingo (restaurant intelligence platforms), and Prosapient (research platform).

Consilium corporate finance partner Mr Holt said: “We are thrilled to have supported Smedvig Capital in this investment round. EdgeTier’s AI-powered analytics solutions are truly ground-breaking, and we are confident that this investment will enable them to capitalise on the immense opportunities in the global market.”

“As always, it was a pleasure to work with Joe and Maeve on this project. Smedvig has a track record of successful investments in pioneering businesses, and we are proud to be part of their journey.”
