Core-Asset Consulting, the financial sector recruitment specialist, has added to its asset management expertise with the appointment of Liam Hughes to the newly-created position of senior business manager.

Mr Hughes joins Core-Asset this week and will report to director of asset management Betsy Williamson.

He will be responsible for permanent mid-to-senior level asset management roles – both in the UK and internationally – as well as account management and helping grow Core-Asset’s client base.

Previously, he spent 11 years at Barclay Simpson, a leading global corporate governance recruitment and executive search consultancy.

He’s also worked in a variety of locations, most recently as Country Manager for Barclay Simpson in Hong Kong.

Betsy Williamson said: “Liam fits extremely well with Core-Asset Consulting’s multi-discipline, sector-specialist approach to recruitment. He has over a decade of expertise working across risk management, compliance, information risk, cyber security, audit and in-house legal roles.

“He also has considerable experience in operating across different geographies and time zones. This will really add value to our asset management clients, who are increasingly willing to consider high-calibre candidates from overseas.

“With the complexity of asset management roles increasing allied with our clients’ growing need to compete for talent globally, Liam’s appointment to Core-Asset Consulting is an exciting and timely one.”
