Deloitte has announced Pauline Biddle as its new managing partner of regional markets in a role that will see her lead all of the firm’s regional practice senior partners outside of London.

She succeeds Richard Bell who will now leads Deloitte’s UK Financial Advisory practice.

A transaction services partner, who advises FTSE100 and FTSE250 companies on mergers and acquisitions, she is a member of the Deloitte North West Europe board and also acts as the practice senior partner for Deloitte Midlands.

Having joined Deloitte in 2002 after a decade spent at Arthur Andersen, her professional career has spanned Audit, Consulting and Financial Advisory.

Ms Biddle has also held a number of leadership roles including heading up the firm’s Aerospace and Defence industry group.

Pauline Biddle, managing partner for the Deloitte regional markets, said: “It fills me with great pride to be appointed as managing partner for the Deloitte regional markets. Our 6,000 people across seven regional practices and 18 local offices are already achieving great things and successfully delivering over a third of the firm’s annual revenues.

“However, to make an impact that really matters in our UK regions, investing in our people is my foremost priority. Our regional businesses are growing and our head count is up nearly six per cent with more than 1,450 people recruited in the last year. Our people seek a career experience that delivers personal growth, the ability to progress whilst balancing personal commitments and a clear connection between their role and the firm’s strategy. Deloitte is well on the road to being recognised as the stand out firm and I will be leading our teams in delivering excellence to their clients while supporting growth, improving productivity and driving the regions to economic prosperity.”

Steve Williams, Deloitte’s senior partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “Pauline will bring a wealth of experience and invaluable insight to her new role. Her appointment will help to enhance our commitment to innovate, disrupt and offer new services and solutions to our clients, building on the investment that we have already made to make Deloitte truly distinctive in Scotland.”
