Deloitte UK chairman Nick Owen and Glasgow office senior partner, Douglas Farish, have this week launched the firm’s new Glasgow office at 110 Queen Street.

Deloitte’s 240 staff will occupy 18,280 sq. ft., servicing clients across a variety of industries, including the public sector, financial services, food and drink, technology and energy.

Meeting rooms are themed around the organisations that Deloitte works with and staff areas are biophilic (an architectural concept which aims to bring nature back into man-made places), while the furniture layout is informed by Herman Miller’s “Living Office” concept, which aims to support work and interaction.

The firm said the office design also seeks to encourage “agile and new ways of working”, allowing staff more flexibility with their work setting and the way they go about their daily professional lives.

Deloitte’s wider impact features throughout the office, with reminders of its charity cycling event, the Deloitte Ride Across Britain; social enterprises the firm has helped through its Social Innovation Pioneers programme, such as WildHearts in Action.

Achieving BREEAM2 “Excellent” rating and EPC “A” classification, Deloitte also said the 110 Queen Street office is highly sustainable, with on-site renewable devices, built-in energy efficiency and a part-green roof.

Douglas Farish, Glasgow office senior partner, said: “I’m proud to launch our new Glasgow office today, which represents a significant investment in our Scottish operation, and a strong commitment to not only the city, but Scotland as a whole.

“The new accommodation captures the positive impact Deloitte has on our clients, the places in which we do business and the talent we hire. It further underlines our continued support of the Scottish economy, its talented pool of entrepreneurs and a sustainable future.”

Nick Owen, Deloitte UK chairman, said: “Today represents another milestone in Deloitte’s long history in Scotland. The firm remains strongly committed to Scotland, and our new office will mean we are in a better position than ever to provide our clients with the best service, while attracting and retaining the best talent.”
