Deloitte has continued to invest in its Scottish operations with the appointment of five new directors in its central belt operations.

The business advisory firm has promoted Mark Pool, Daniel Barry, and Gareth Hancock in Edinburgh, as well as Paul Cowley and Paul Hazelton in Glasgow.

The five join Deloitte’s network of 57 directors across Scotland.

Mark Pool leads Deloitte’s transfer pricing team in Scotland and has extensive experience of working with UK multinational and foreign-owned companies. He has also worked with a number of high-growth Scottish businesses to help them expand internationally.

Daniel Barry joined Deloitte in 2010 and leads its enterprise risk management propositions for the investment management sector across the UK. He previously spent nine years in the asset management industry.

Gareth Hancock is an insurance specialist and leads Deloitte’s IFRS 17 data proposition within the UK. He has more than 14 years’ experience developing and delivering technology, analytics, automation, and business change programmes in the industry.

In Glasgow, Paul Cowley has become a director in the financial services team. He qualified as a CA in 2000 and has a broad portfolio of clients, with a particular focus on banking. Meanwhile, Paul Hazelton has worked with Deloitte’s private markets clients for over ten years.

Steve Williams, senior partner for Deloitte in Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “Each of our new directors has demonstrated an admirable commitment to our firm and its values, leading the way in their respective industries and acting as an inspiration to their wider teams. They have a vast amount of experience between them and we look forward to them playing an even more active role at Deloitte in the years ahead.

“These promotions are a reflection of our strong start to 2017, with the opening of our new Greenhouse facility in Edinburgh, the continued expansion of our Digital Studio, and our acquisition of Market Gravity. We are actively seeking out new recruits for the Studio, as we search for the best digital talent Scotland has to offer.”
