Dickson Minto beats Magic Circle rivals in adviser rankings

Boutique Scottish legal firm Dickson Minto has become a top tier adviser to major listed companies in the UK. The firm took third place in the latest FTSE main market adviser rankings. As a measure of client numbers, it now ranks ahead of legal heavyweights Linklaters and Allen & Overy. Slaughter & May and Herbert Smith Freehills, meanwhile, rank first and second respectively. Among Dickson Minto’s clients are Alliance Trust as well as Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust. It also advises companies including Tullow Oil, AG Barr and Aggreko. Douglas Armstrong, partner at Dickson Minto, told The Scotsman: “We see many exciting opportunities to advise clients on IPOs in the next few years, in particular in the real estate and tech sectors.”
