DWF appoints new tax director in Scotland

DWF has appointed Caroline Colliston as a director in the firm’s tax team joining from corporate and commercial law firm Blackwood Partners LLP. Based in Edinburgh, she will support the firm’s private and public sector clients domestically and internationally with a focus on tax and share incentives.

Ms Colliston is a dual-qualified solicitor and a chartered tax adviser and has notable experience in all aspects of business taxation including advising on the tax and share scheme aspects of acquisitions, disposals, restructuring and financing.

She said: “DWF has a highly regarded and experienced tax team and I’m keen to support the firm as it enhances its offering in Scotland. I look forward to working with colleagues in the UK and internationally in helping grow the firm’s capabilities, particularly in the corporate, real estate and employment practice areas.”

The circa 150-strong DWF team in Scotland has seen a number of senior appointments over the last 18 months including head of insurance in Scotland Andrew Lothian from Anderson Strathern, banking specialist Chris McLauchlan from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and planning expert Moray Thomson from MacRoberts.
