EasyJet launches new direct Aberdeen to Paris route

EasyJet has announced it will introduce a new direct service from Aberdeen International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle, commencing on 27 October.

Once the route begins operating, flights will operate twice a week every Monday and Friday. This provides customers in the North East of Scotland with a direct route to one of Europe’s major hubs, offering wider connectivity to the continent and beyond.

Chris Tibbett, aero director at AGS Airports, said: “We’re thrilled that easyJet will launch this long-awaited route between Aberdeen and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

“This is a connection the city and wider region have been calling for, and we’re proud to have worked closely with easyJet to make it a reality.  The new service will provide vital links for both business and leisure travellers, with timings perfect for that romantic weekend city break or Disneyland Paris adventure.

“Paris becomes the carrier’s fourth destination from Aberdeen, joining its existing route network to London Gatwick, London Luton and Geneva. We look forward to seeing the first flight launch this October.”

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, added: “We’re delighted to be offering yet another fantastic new route, providing even more choice for our customers at Aberdeen.

“With flights and holidays now available on even more routes for the winter, we’re providing greater direct connectivity for customers and offering great value for money, always aiming to make travel easy.”

Chris Foy, CEO, VisitAberdeenshire, said: “Restoring the connection between the City of Light and the Granite City further enhances the North-east’s credentials as a destination, with a quick and easy journey for visitors from Paris and the wider catchment area in northern France.

“We look forward to saying a warm “Bienvenue” to easyJet passengers this autumn”

Russell Borthwick, chief executive of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is a connection the region’s business community has been calling out for, and we very much welcome the return of flights to and from Paris CDG as a positive step in the right direction.

“The important thing now is that companies and individuals demonstrate the pent-up demand by selling out the allocations. This will hopefully lead to increased flight frequency in the future.

“The message that Aberdeen is an internationally connected region, one stop from anywhere in the world is an important one as we look to become established as a global ‘new’ energy hub and continue the diversification of our economy.”
