Eight jobs to be created as Laings unveils Tag Heuer boutique in Glasgow

A render of the boutique planned to open later this year

Scottish family-owned luxury jewellers, Laings, has unveiled plans for a new TAG Heuer boutique to be situated on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, also known as the city’s ‘Style Mile’.

This announcement marks the company’s first mono-brand venture with the renowned TAG Heuer, signifying a deepening partnership between the two luxury brands.

This boutique, previously occupied by high street fashion label Diesel, is part of Laings’ enduring commitment to physical retail and is expected to create eight new jobs, including a store manager, supervisor, and several sales roles.

Stuart McDowell, managing director of Laings, shared his vision for the upcoming boutique: “Our TAG Heuer Boutique will offer an immersive experience for our clients, showcasing its world-renowned Swiss watchmaking expertise, passion for precision and cutting-edge technology.”

He further anticipates that a wealth of collections on display will draw both new and seasoned TAG Heuer enthusiasts into the store. He added: “Our boutique will be the perfect environment for clients to engage with our in-store TAG Heuer specialists and enjoy a truly exceptional experience.”

Similarly, Rob Diver, managing director of TAG Heuer UK and Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be opening this new TAG Heuer boutique in Glasgow in partnership with Laings, which will be our first Mono-brand boutique together.

“This new space will enable us to offer our customers a fully immersive in-store brand experience in the Glasgow city centre, and is part of a new exciting journey with Laings.”

The showroom will feature an interactive display area highlighting cutting-edge technology, a luxurious lounge for comfortable shopping, and the usual level of privacy and confidentiality synonymous with Laings’ customer experience.

These developments come in the wake of Laings investing £5 million in a new flagship store at Rowan House, also situated on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, as part of the company’s multi-layer growth strategy.
