Emirates reinstates daily flights between Edinburgh and Dubai

Emirates reinstates daily flights between Edinburgh and Dubai

Emirates will return to Edinburgh this year as it resumes its service between the capital and Dubai.

The eagerly awaited return of daily flights between Edinburgh and Dubai will see the service restart on 4 November 2024, on an A350 aircraft. Flights will have 32 lie-flat seats in business class, 21 seats in premium economy, and 259 economy class seats.

The service has been temporarily suspended since Covid and its resumption demonstrates the continued recovery in aviation and the confidence in Edinburgh Airport, which expects to welcome a record 15 million passengers this year.

Gordon Dewar, chief executive of Edinburgh Airport, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Emirates back to Scotland’s capital and busiest airport.

“The resumption of daily flights between Edinburgh and Dubai is a huge show of confidence in our market and reaffirms our status as Scotland’s gateway to the world.

“Emirates is one of the world’s leading airlines and its return is great news for our passengers, providing direct access to Dubai and opening up fantastic connectivity to other parts of the world.

“We look forward to welcoming our partners at Emirates back to the airport in November and working together on the success of this important route.”

The renewed service, operated by international carrier Emirates, will provide passengers with connectivity through the vast Emirates network. It is scheduled to depart daily at 20:40 from Edinburgh airport, arriving the following morning at 08:05 local time in Dubai. The daily return flight will depart at 14:50 from Dubai, arriving at 19:05 in Edinburgh.

Julie Bailey, UK regional sales manager at Emirates, said: “Scotland is a very important passenger and cargo destination for Emirates and we’re very proud to be back in Edinburgh – serving customers with world-class products and amenities.

“Scottish customers can look forward to an unmatched travel experience with our highly anticipated A350 aircraft; and even more travel options with 14 weekly flights to/from the country.

“We look forward to connecting Edinburgh to the world once again and to offering customers access to more than 130 global destinations via Dubai.”
