EQ Accountants announces wave of promotions

Scottish tax and business consultancy firm EQ Accountants has announced 23 promotions throughout its organisation, with a focus on promoting its home-grown talent.

This move comes in response to growing demand for the firm’s services, leading to a 27% headcount increase over the past year.

Among the promoted employees are ten new managers. Michelle Murray, Scott Kennedy, and Gavin Nurse, have ascended to the rank of senior managers, while Eilidh Giudice has been promoted to the position of manager. Gary Dempster, Louise Millar, Laura Nicol, Hannah Hutchison, and Chelsea Anton have become assistant managers. The remainder of the promotions encompass a diverse range of roles from trainees to supervisors across the firm’s offices.



Nineteen of these newly promoted individuals are EQ’s own trainees, underlining the firm’s commitment to developing its workforce from within. Emphasising the training and career development of their team, EQ aims to foster a professionally rewarding environment with numerous opportunities for progression.

One of the new senior managers, Scott Kennedy, joined EQ straight from school in 1994 and now leads the Forfar Amber Accounting department. The Amber team have gone from strength to strength in recent years, due to demand from clients outsourcing their accounting services such as payroll and bookkeeping to the specialist professionals. The team now have 18 members, most of which are based in Dundee, including the specialist payroll department that delivers 380 payrolls and processes 5,360 payslips each month for clients.
