French Duncan has promoted tax director Hazel Burt to partner with immediate effect as part of the accountant’s ongoing ‘programme of change and development’.

Ms Burt has specialised in tax for more than 10 years and heads up the tax compliance and consultancy team in French Duncan’s Stirling office, managing a varied client base of businesses and private clients.

Commenting on her promotion, she said: “I’m delighted to be made a partner in our flourishing tax team. In addition to my particular interest in the construction and agricultural sectors, I look forward to advising our expanding client base on all aspects of capital taxes planning, personal tax planning, tax investigations and property taxation.

Graeme Finnie, French Duncan managing partner, added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Hazel to the partnership. Hazel has been an outstanding performer throughout her time with the firm and has excelled since taking on the role of Head of Personal Tax. She is a great example of this firm recognising talent and nurturing it from early in her career.

“Hazel’s promotion is testament to our mission statement to recruit, train and retain the best quality people as we embark on the next phase of an ambitious evolutionary programme aimed at making French Duncan the exceptional mid-tier accountancy firm in Scotland.”

French Duncan now has 18 partners, a workforce upwards of 200 spread across a network of offices spanning Scotland’s Central Belt.
