Glasgow-based insolvency specialist 180 Advisory Solutions is set to make another foray into the acquisitions game following last year’s purchase of AMI Financial Solutions.

180’s expansive mood, which was also recently evidenced by the recent opening of its new office in Dublin, does not yet appear sated.

And co-founder Barry Stewart has now revealed that the firm, which has been doubling its turnover year-on-year and now stands at £1 million, is currently in talks with two other sole practitioners with a view to either acquiring or merging with their businesses.

Mr Stewart, who set up the business in 2014 with George Lafferty after both were made redundant, said: “With a new office in Dublin, FCA authorisation, growing turnover and on-going business acquisition targets, this is a very exciting time for 180 Advisory Solutions,” he added.

“I’m very optimistic about the future and can’t wait to see where we are in another three years.”

He added: “Our clients often ask how do we know what it’s like to experience financial struggles and I tell them it’s because we’ve been there,” Stewart said.

“Three years ago, we were both made redundant – shortly after learning my wife was expecting our first child – so we know exactly how it feels to have the rug pulled out from under you.

“However, I also know that financial struggles are not the end for you or your business.

“I have personally seen dozens of struggling businesses and thousands of individuals take control of their situation, recover from their struggles and secure their long-term future.”
