Gleneagles profits more than double to £10m in record-breaking year

Perthshire’s Gleneagles Hotel has seen its profits more than double last year as sales surpassed £100 million for the first time.
The hotel’ latest filed accounts for the year ending 31 March 2025 reveal a turnover of £101.7m, an increase of over £14m from the previous year’s £87.4m. Pre-tax profits at the five-star resort soared to £10m, up from £4.3m in 2024.
These figures do not include the separately accounted Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh, which reported sales of £13.5m.
The record-breaking year has enabled the hotel to refinance and increase its loan facility to £145m to fund further upgrades. Group managing director Conor O’Leary said ongoing investment in the estate remains a “core priority”.
Recent improvements include refurbished guest rooms, enhanced food and beverage offerings, and the launch of the Gleneagles Sporting Club, which features state-of-the-art amenities such as padel courts and an indoor climbing wall, The Scotsman reports.
Mr O’Leary stated that performance in the current financial year remains strong, though he acknowledged that “inflationary pressures and UK fiscal policy continue to affect operating margins”. He expressed confidence that the resort’s quality and service would allow it to maintain and increase its market share.
