The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) received nearly 300 applications from women across 16 countries for its new Women in Finance membership programme, with the UK among the countries leading demand.

Launched under the professional body’s charitable objectives, the initiative awards 100 complimentary CISI memberships to help women enter financial services or return after a career break. Successful applicants gain access to CISI’s smart learning platform with over 2,000 resources, global events, a member-exclusive mentoring scheme and the CISI mobile app.

Alina Chapovskaya ACSI, returning to the sector after a break, described it as offering “a community, a renewed sense of belonging, and practical tools to update my skills”.

CISI CEO Tracy Vegro OBE said the organisation wants more women “entering the profession but staying, progressing and leading within it”. Chair Michael Cole-Fontayn MCSI added that the response demonstrates “the scale of untapped potential among women seeking careers in finance”.

The CISI is a signatory to the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter.
