Henderson Loggie has appointed Matthew McDermott as director of its accounting and business services (ABS) team.
Mr McDermott will be based in the Glasgow office from 22 September, reflecting the firm’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the West of Scotland.
With four offices across Scotland, Henderson Loggie’s latest expansion in Glasgow is part of its wider strategic vision, which has seen the firm more than double turnover and nearly triple profits over six years.
Mr McDermott studied at the University of Strathclyde and has over 13 years’ experience advising clients across a broad range of industries. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Accountants and brings particular expertise in supporting pharmacy and hospitality businesses.
Jaslin Bhagrath, partner and head of ABS at Henderson Loggie, said: “Matthew’s appointment marks an exciting step in our firm’s strategy to strengthen its physical presence in the West.
“His extensive technical knowledge, his track record of building rapport with clients and strong network will be invaluable. He has a deep understanding of owner-managed businesses and the opportunities and challenges they face.
“This reinforces our commitment to helping Scotland’s owner managed businesses through our advisory offering, focusing on delivering real-time management information to support decision making.”
Mr McDermott said: “I’m excited to be joining Henderson Loggie at this stage in its growth and to have the opportunity to expand the offering in the West of Scotland.
“Glasgow is home to so many ambitious SMEs, and I look forward to working with them to give business owners the tools, insight and confidence they need to take the next step.”
