HRC Recruitment expands into “booming” payroll and outsourced finance market

Andy Mitchell

Glasgow-based independent recruitment consultancy, HRC Recruitment, has expanded its offering with the appointment of Andy Mitchell to lead a new specialist division in payroll and outsourced finance.

Mr Mitchell joins HRC as a managing consultant, working on payroll positions across the UK.

He has more than 13 years’ experience in recruitment, including a decade focussed on accountancy and finance roles.

Prior to joining HRC Recruitment, Mr Mitchell was a recruitment manager for NES Global Talent, helping to set up a new manufacturing division for the firm in Orlando, Florida. He previously spent three years at HRC Recruitment, latterly working with payroll functions, before his spell in the USA.

The addition of a payroll and outsourced finance division builds on HRC Recruitment’s existing expertise in accountancy and finance. Mitchell’s appointment takes the wider team to four, with plans to add to that figure in the near future.

Mr Mitchell said: “We’ve quickly realised that the market for talent in payroll and outsourced finance is absolutely booming – there is huge demand across the UK, from Belfast to Birmingham. We’re currently working with some of the UK’s top accountancy and finance firms on delivering the best people for a variety of positions throughout the country.

“Payroll is one of the most undervalued functions in any business. The team, or individual, is the only department within a company that has the potential to impact every single employee. We realise how vital these hires are, which is why we are putting ourselves at the heart of the market.

“I had a great three years in my first spell at HRC Recruitment and have a strong admiration for Hilary Roberts; when I returned from the USA, the decision to return to the company was an obvious one. The business has great management and experienced teams in a variety of disciplines, filled with like-minded individuals all heading in the same direction.”
