Lucy Dimes has stepped down from her position as chief executive of Scottish cloud computing firm Iomart, less than two years after taking the helm.

Her departure follows that of previous chief executive Reece Donovan, who left abruptly in September 2023. Ms Dimes had combined the chief executive role with the chairmanship.

In a statement, the Iomart board expressed gratitude to Ms Dimes for her contributions in “repositioning Iomart’s business to more fully address the opportunities in the public and private cloud and Security markets”.

Richard Last, the current chairman, will assume the role of executive chair effective immediately, while the board commences the search for a new chief executive. He will be supported by CFO Scott Cunningham, non-executive director and Iomart founder Angus MacSween, and Ryan Langley, chief executive of Atech, the group’s public cloud and security business, along with the executive leadership team.

This leadership change comes shortly after Iomart announced its intention to rebrand as Atech, adopting the name of the English company it acquired last year. The company described this move as “part of its ongoing strategic development” and a “significant milestone in the evolution of its cloud services offering”.

Ms Dimes has a background in senior executive roles across various sectors, including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, with experience in telecoms, technology, business services, and financial services. Her expertise lies in product innovation, market entry, and scaling businesses in complex, regulated international markets.

Iomart is expected to announce its full-year results for the year ended 31 March 2025 in late June. The company has confirmed that there has been no material change to its trading performance since the pre-close trading update issued on 23 April.
