K3 Capital Group tops Scottish M&A table for first half of 2023

K3 Capital Group was the most prolific financial adviser in the Scottish M&A market in the first half of 2023, according to the latest Experian MarketIQ report.

The professional services group maintained its leading position after advising on nine transactions over the period, during which there was a 25 per cent decline in deal volume and a 68 per cent decline in deal value compared to the previous year.

In total, there were 183 deals worth £4.6 billion in the Scottish market in the first six months of the year, down from 247 deals worth £14.4 billion over the same period in 2022.

Scottish deal activity represented 6.4 per cent of the UK total by volume and 6.8 per cent of the UK total by value.



K3 is followed in the league table by Anderson Anderson & Brown (AAB), which also advised on nine transactions, followed by Grant Thornton on eight and Azets and Cortus Advisory tied on seven.

RSM advised on six transactions, Johnston Carmichael on five, and Mazars, HNH Partners and KPMG each on three.
