Keane Premier Group doubles portfolio with acquisition of Priority Care Group
Harestane care home in Dundee
Glasgow-based care provider Keane Premier Group has acquired Priority Care Group, doubling the size of its portfolio and extending its reach across Scotland.
The transaction, financed by Barclays UK Corporate Bank, brings six care homes, spanning Dundee, Perthshire, Angus and Aberdeenshire, into the Keane family, adding 233 beds and a highly experienced operational team.
Priority Care Group, a long-standing family-run provider headquartered in Dundee, will continue to trade under its own name and a consolidated leadership structure is in place to ensure full continuity for residents, families and staff.
The enhanced scale will allow Keane to accelerate investment in facilities, services and workforce development at a time of rising demand across the sector which is being driven by an ageing population and increasingly complex care needs.
Ryan Smith, joint managing director at Keane Premier Group, said: “This is a game-changing acquisition for Keane that will double the size of our business, increase our footprint into new regions across Scotland, and importantly bring together two strongly aligned care providers.
“Our commitment to family values and delivering exceptional care creates a natural and powerful partnership with the Priority team, while offering us the scale to invest in homes and staff working in the sector. We look forward to working as one team to maintain outstanding care for our residents and to drive the next phase of growth for the business.”
Chris Lawrie, head of mid-corporate Scotland at Barclays UK Corporate Bank, said: “Barclays is proud to have supported Keane Premier Group on this transformational acquisition that strengthens the Group’s position as a leading Scottish care home operator.
“By providing funding support, Barclays has helped enable the expansion of high‑quality care services across Scotland, supporting improved outcomes for residents, employees and local communities. The transaction underlines Barclays’ commitment to backing purpose‑led businesses, investing in the healthcare sector, and supporting a long‑term client with their growth ambitions.”
Andy Prior, director at Priority Care Group, said: “Joining forces with Keane marks an important new chapter for Priority Care Group. As a family-run business, it was essential for us to find a partner that shares our values and long-standing commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.”
Veronica Gibson, director at Priority Care Group, added: “Keane’s approach, culture and ambition make them a natural fit, and we are confident this partnership will provide stability and new opportunities for our residents, their families and our staff.”
