Kensington Mortgages appoints account development manager for Scotland

Sharon Cochrane

Kensington Mortgages has announced the appointment of Sharon Cochrane as account development manager (ADM) for Scotland, following its launch in Scotland earlier this year.

Ms Cochrane, who brings over 19 years’ of experience in financial services to the role, will be responsible for new business growth and relationship management.

Prior to joining Kensington, she was a business development manager (BDM) at Accord, the intermediary arm of Yorkshire Building Society, for 12 years. She initially covered Glasgow before moving to a key account role covering all of Scotland.

Before this, Ms Cochrane worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Group for seven years, firstly as a mortgage adviser before moving to NatWest as a BDM for Edinburgh between 2003 and 2006.

“This is an exciting time for the Kensington brand”

Sales and distribution director Steve Griffiths said: “Sharon brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge of the Scottish market and we’re delighted to have her join the team. Sharon will be pivotal in supporting our continued growth plans, following our successful full market launch in March.

“This is an exciting time for the Kensington brand, amidst a fast-growing specialist and evolving Buy-to-Let regulatory environment. Self-employed workers are becoming an increasingly vital part of the workforce and we fully intend to develop our proposition in Scotland to meet the needs of this group in the mortgage market. We look forward to working closely with Sharon to achieve these goals.”

Ms Cochrane added: “I am very excited to have joined Kensington Mortgages and look forward to expanding Kensington’s offering in the Scottish market.

“Kensington is an innovative lender, with a proven track record for supporting underserved borrowers and I’ve already received a hugely positive response from Scottish brokers to our presence in the market.”
