Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP (WJM) is further expanding its services in Scotland by merging with BMK Wilson with effect from 29th May 2017.

The merged practice will continue to be known as Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP in Glasgow, and Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP incorporating Barty’s in Dunblane. This arrangement sees ongoing implementation of WJM’s plan to strengthen and grow the key areas of private client, commercial property, corporate and dispute resolution.

All five partners and 16 employees from BMK Wilson’s Glasgow and Dunblane offices will be joining WJM, representing an 18 per cent increase in head count.

The announcement comes less than a year after WJM formalised its merger with MacArthur & Co in Inverness, and a brace of senior appointments from McClure Naismith in August 2015.

WJM chief executive Liam Entwistle said this latest merger is part of the firm’s planned strategic expansion, adding: “WJM and BMK Wilson are both firms with an excellent heritage and pedigree. The merged firm will build on that for the benefit of all of its clients, strengthening its position in the marketplace in key strategic areas.

“Together we will continue to provide high quality legal services, combining high levels of technical and sector specific expertise with local knowledge and networks. We are jointly committed to helping our clients achieve what they need for themselves, their families and their businesses.”

The merged firm will mean WJM has 28 partners, 56 fee earners and 52 employees across its four offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Dunblane.
