Debbie McIlwraith Cameron
Debbie McIlwraith Cameron joined Lindsays this week, strengthening the specialist support provided to charities and voluntary organisations of all kinds and sizes across Scotland.
Based in Lindsays’ Edinburgh offices, she was previously senior associate with Turcan Connell, where she had been for 11 years.
Ms McIlwraith Cameron brings widespread experience to the role, with particular interests in mergers and transactional work, governance and training.
She said: “This is an exciting opportunity to progress my career, advising organisations which make a real difference to lives and communities in all sorts of ways. I was really drawn by Lindsays’ ethos and way of working.
“One of the most interesting aspects of the rules which govern charities is that it is such a young area of law, one that you can play a part in shaping – at the same time helping some really interesting people and charities.”
Helen Kidd, partner and head of charities and the third sector at Lindsays, has known her new colleague for a number of years and welcomed her to the team.
“Debbie’s a terrific hire for us, bringing experience, enthusiasm and real understanding of charities. I am delighted to have her on-board,” she said.
