Loganair appoints Ronnie Matheson as chief commercial officer

Loganair has appointed Ronnie Matheson to its executive team as chief commercial officer.

Mr Matheson will take up the new post on Monday, succeeding Luke Lovegrove, who is stepping down in 2026 to pursue new opportunities outside Scotland.

He brings 25 years’ experience, having began his aviation career  in Glasgow with British Airways in 1998. He has held senior roles at leading aviation brands, including easyJet, Flybe, and most recently Blue Islands.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Matheson said: “Having worked in partnership with Loganair a number of times throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand the airline’s commitment to serving regional communities.

“I started my aviation career in Scotland over 25 years ago, so it is an honour and a privilege to return to work in Scotland to lead the commercial function of the UK’s largest and leading regional airline.

“This really is a pivotal time in the regional airline sector, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of Loganair.”

Luke Farajallah, CEO at Loganair, said: “Ronnie, who was the chief revenue officer at Blue Islands, has become available sooner than anticipated, which is a positive from the situation in Jersey and one we intend taking full advantage of.

“To ensure a seamless transition, Ronnie will work closely with Luke Lovegrove over the coming weeks, supporting continuity and growth across our commercial function and wider business.

“Ronnie’s experience and knowledge of the Channel Islands is unsurpassed, an area he will focus on in his early weeks with the business.

“I am delighted to welcome Ronnie to the Loganair executive team and have no doubt his contributions will be positive as we continue to strengthen Loganair’s resilient performance.”
