Accountancy firm Chiene + Tait has recruited the former head of Lomond Advisory, Paul Mason, as a partner to lead its new corporate finance division.

The Edinburgh-based firm, which currently advises clients on aspects of financing and M&A transactions, has undertaken this latest investment to help service the growing demand for experienced, senior-level support, where clients can benefit from high quality corporate finance advice.

Mr Mason’s extensive skills and experience have been developed through a number of prominent investment banking roles at Deutsche Bank in London followed by spells at Quayle Munro and Brewin Dolphin Scotland.

Over the past four years he built up his own business, Lomond Advisory, whose client base will follow him to Chiene + Tait.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Mason said: “Ultimately the opportunity to become part of a larger, and fast-growing firm was impossible to refuse. I look forward to establishing and growing a strong corporate finance team within Chiene + Tait, enhancing the dedicated service the firm provides to existing clients.”

Chiene + Tait’s managing partner, Carol Flockhart, said: “As a firm which is committed to being the Scottish market leader across all the services we provide, we are very excited about Paul’s appointment and the launch of the corporate finance division. We are responding to feedback from existing clients and their increasing requirement for quality corporate finance advice.

“We’ve provided a great deal of value through our strategic advice over the years, and have delivered more value in exits and MBOs for our clients. We have a great track record on which we can build, and our growth in the area and Paul’s leadership of the team will really boost the service we can offer: precise, insightful and cost-efficient.”
