MBM Commercial hires new restructuring and insolvency partner

Jamie Nellany

Law firm MBM Commercial has appointed Jamie Nellany as the firm’s head of restructuring and insolvency.

In this new role for the firm, Mr Nellany will deliver advice on a full range of restructuring and insolvency matters to the firm’s corporate and commercial clients. He will be based in the firm’s Edinburgh office.

Joining MBM as a partner from Brodies LLP, Mr Nellany’s experience spans a wide range of sectors including banking and finance, manufacturing, engineering, hospitality, healthcare and technology. He is ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers UK for his work in corporate restructuring and insolvency.

“I am delighted to be spearheading this practice area for MBM Commercial and will be working closely with colleagues across the practice who will continue to provide expertise to clients in these matters.” noted Mr Nellany.

Stuart Hendry, MBM senior partner, added: “Jamie brings almost two decades of expertise and a deep commercial understanding in all aspects of the restructuring and insolvency discipline. We are delighted to have him join the MBM Commercial team to provide his expertise to our clients.”

He continued: “Companies have seen increased financial pressures in the last 12 months, with the added costs of national insurance and inflationary pressures impacting all sectors of the economy.

“Any businesses that are experiencing financial pressure should seek professional advice sooner rather than later, as this provides more options for an optimal resolution for shareholders and creditors.

“With Jamie’s hire, MBM are demonstrating our commitment to helping our clients and providing the best advice possible in these increasingly challenging times.”
