Iain Young, partner and head of Morton Fraser’s corporate restructuring and insolvency team, said: “Alan is a distinguished practitioner and is recognised for his work in corporate restructuring and insolvency, an area which we are really keen to build on as a firm.

“The addition of a second corporate partner in Glasgow, together with the ongoing recruitment of more team members, is a clear demonstration of our ambition and confidence in our corporate offering generally and our restructuring and insolvency practice in particular. The addition of Alan alongside partner Paul Geoghegan in our Glasgow office brings further depth and expertise in this area”.

“As well as being well versed in insolvency and recovery, we know that Alan’s commercial awareness and pragmatic way of working will make for a great addition to our corporate team.”

Mr Meek added: “It’s an exciting prospect to join Morton Fraser at a time when it is looking to build on its work in corporate insolvency and restructuring. I am looking forward to working with different people in the business and using my insights and experience to help grow the firm’s client base in this area.

“I was attracted to Morton Fraser as it is a growing firm with an outstanding reputation and strong prospects, so I am looking forward to working with a team who are fully dedicated to getting the best outcome for its clients.”
